Nice read! It's almost embarrassing, but I have yet to get a pheasant. I have never hunted anywhere worthwhile, but I did have one chance a few years ago. Unfortunately, I downed a rooster northeast of Alexandria and it ran into the woods. I'm sure the coyotes had a healthy lunch.

I enjoyed that read. I had similar trip this year with your fellow "Avid" writer David Crist. Unfortuantely, he left town a day early to miss the blizzard coming in. It was a damm shame for him, because the next day my unlces and I saw over 400 birds and had our limit for sure.

This was a truely entertaining article. However, I will believe it when I see it. In others, when can I be the other guy in the stand watching. I want my chance at those big bucks. Keep the stories coming.

Hi Dave,
Very interesting narative. Reminds me of the commentary that used to be on the hunting channels when Patrick was watching them. I am so glad that you two have this lasting friendship. What a treasure. Merry Christmas. MOM (Deanna)

Dave, my friend, shipmate and hunting buddy! That's an awesome story! I envy you because you are actually "LIVING THE DREAM"! Excellent writeup. I felt like I was there with ya brother. Well, we have been there together on numerous occassions. As a matter of fact, that top photo looks like our hunt in Pike County! Keep up the great work and you might find yourself being published some day.

Dan,
Loved your story! I agree with you about not having trips of a lifetime. There almost isn't a place that I have ever hunted that I don't plan to go back to eventually.
